Hi, I'm Donna. My husband Rick and I live in Waynesboro, VA. We have seven children ranging in age from 14 to 24, and our first grandchild was born on June 4th 2009. It's challenging having a 2 year old running around the house again... (By the way, in case you counted only 6 kids...my oldest son is not in this picture...) You can see more pictures of the family on the Gallery page, if you are so inclined. We've also put our latest family photos on our Christmas Letter 2011.

Since this website is all about me sharing my life and passions...here is what I am most passionate about ...my love for Jesus Christ, my love for my husband and family and for the kingdom of God. Friendships are also very important to me!

I consider myself a worship artist... (a singer-songwriter and a worship leader). The songs I write reflect my heart and the lens through which I view life. That lens is deeply spiritual. Not very religious though... Our family is currently involved with a home fellowship.

My husband Rick is an ordained minister and is considered a  home missionary at Christian Aid Mission, where he is their web master.  Our good friends Lance and Christie Thollander run Hope-Builders another mission that raises financial support for indigenous ministries in very poor, mainly third world countries. Rick and I whole-heartedly support these ministries as they seek to bring God's kingdom to places on this planet where we as westerners would never be as effective.

I began my spiritual journey as a teenager living in New Jersey, back in the days of the Jesus Movement and Christian Coffeehouses. (I was part of the Mustard Seed Coffeehouse in Ramsey, NJ.) Those early experiences helped to shape my life in profound ways and continue to influence the choices I make today. In many ways who I am today began to take form back then.

In elementary school school I was singing solo's with our adult church choir, in high school I performed in school music programs and I was a member of my high school chorus. I began playing guitar more seriously in high school and that is when I began writing songs and performing them. In college I toured with our College Concert Choir and was a soloist.

Over the years I have been in several bands, and church worship teams...even had my own band.  I've led worship in churches, conferences, youth events, small groups, retirement communities and home church groups. I've been a member of several worship planning teams and drama teams. I've written drama presentations, experiential themed worship experiences, created audio visuals for worship and even directed a small seasonal church choir.I have lived in and traveled to several other countries, (even living for a few years in Scotland) and I've mentored fellow worship leaders and their teams. I have performed worship concerts in coffeehouses, prisons, schools, and outdoor venues.

I was part of a group of musicians a few years ago that had the joy of traveling to Cuba as part of a musical exchange program. Just before that trip I was able to record my CD, "Early Morning Dew" working with Bob Kilpatrick (author of: In My Life Lord be Glorified.) Much to my delight Randy Stonehill was in the same studio and joined in on one of my songs.

A few years ago, I wrote a song for my parent's 50th wedding anniversary called 50 Years Now, and recorded it as a music video. Since it is my one and only "music video"... albeit a bit "home-grown"...I hope you'll give it a watch and a listen.

One of my goals for 2012 is to do more song writing and recording. I also hope to be available to do more traveling and worship leading and/or concerts, especially in the summer months. My hope is to give your worship leader and team and /or choir a well deserved break and just be able to sit back and worship. We could turn the whole morning into a worship concert and even give the pastor or pastors a well deserved break from preaching. If you are interested in having me come either for just a few songs or an entire worship concert, just contact me... I'd be delighted to work with you and your fellowship to fashion something that would meet your needs.
